ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS develops and implements projects in the areas of education, health, welfare and emergency aid. It is supported by SIXT employees in 110 countries on an honorary basis and works nationally and internationally to fight poverty and promote education.

The children's charity was founded in 2000 by Regine Sixt as Regine Sixt Kinderhilfe e.V. in Pullach, Germany. In 2011, it was converted into a non-profit foundation under civil law.

Regine Sixt named her foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS because of a multitude of events in which she was able to provide helpful support. It began with the help of Chernobyl children suffering from leukaemia, followed by projects in Gabon, Ecuador, Tanzania and South Africa.

Today, the foundation is the official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of SIXT SE and an integral part of the SIXT corporate culture. SIXT employees worldwide are involved in DRYING LITTLE TEARS and are committed to a wide variety of projects at all sites. 

In Jamaica, we actively support vulnerable communities through targeted educational and emergency initiatives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we assisted over 5 schools by providing protective masks, COVID-19 testing kits, and essential food items to help safeguard students, staff and their families, while ensuring continued access to basic necessities.

Building on this commitment, we are currently preparing to assist schools affected by Hurricane Melissa, with plans to provide urgently needed supplies and support to help restore safe learning environments and minimize disruption to students’ education.
